Iran will announce further moves on Monday June 16 to scale back compliance with the 2015 nuclear deal with the West, also known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), Iranian agencies reported on Sunday.

The announcement by the Iranian Atomic Energy Organization will be made at the heavy water nuclear plant in Arak during a visit by reporters, Says Tasnim news agency.

Iran previously suspended parts of its voluntary practices under the JCPOA on May 8, the anniversary of the United States' pull-out from the nuclear deal which entailed back-breaking sanctions to convince Iran to start negotiating for a new deal that would cover limitations on Tehran's nuclear program, ballistic missile program and Iran's regional ambitions.

In May Iran announced that it has quadrupled its low-level uranium enrichment and threatened to suspend further commitments if Europe fails to facilitate Tehran's oil export and international banking regardless of U.S. sanctions within 60 days.

However, Europe dismissed the ultimatum by Tehran and advised the Iranian side to continue fulfilling its obligations based on the JCPOA.

Iran's President Hassan Rouhani at the time also promised to go ahead with a project to complete the heavy water reactor in Arak.

Nevertheless, according to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Iran has so far respected its obligations under the JCPOA.
