Vote count begins in different parts of Iran. The picture below shows a group of women in Northern Khorasan Province.
Alireza Kianpour, Tehran based journalist tweeting from inside the interior ministry following the gradual announcement of the vote count. He jokingly writes: " since he entered the ministry, he stayed behind the news". Pointing to speculations of online users, he writes: " In the virtual world Rohani already won, but at the ministry the government hasn't changed!"
US based journalist Omid Memarian tweets the front Page of Etemad Daily with headline: " The Nation Repeated". While the headline is a general description of voter turnout, it is using the same wording of former President Mohammad Khatami when he asked voters to go to polls and support Hassan Rouhani. Memarian writes that it was a smart move on the part of Etemad Daily to use Khatami's quote as a headline, without mentioning his name. Iranian media are not allowed to use former president's name and picture.
