A Year Ago Iranians In Eastern Cities Protested Over Economic Troubles

Protesters took to the streets of the eastern Iranian city of Mashhad and other towns on December 28 to voice their anger over high prices and unemployment. Clashes were reported as police used tear gas to disperse the crowds. Amateur videos provided to RFE/RL's Radio Farda shows scenes of unrest.
