While anti-government demonstrations in Iran continued for the fifth day and unconfirmed posts on social media called for protests of a media blackout, the principal of a Shi’ite seminary in Eshtehard, a small town west of Tehran, says some 500 demonstrators attacked the seminary on August 3.
A hard-line daily close to the office of Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has quoted a spokesman for the Yemeni Houthi rebels as a warning to Western companies to leave Riyadh, Dubai, and Abu Dhabi. The hard-line daily further quoted the spokesman as saying that "missiles are on their way."
Iran's ailing economy has been the most significant issue on Iranians' minds and the subject of fierce debates in the parliament while Iranian officials were at loggerheads with the U.S. President and Secretary of State at the start of the week.
