The labor union for the Haft Tappeh Sugar Mill workers says workers' representative Esmail Bakhshi and labor movement activist Sepideh Qolian have been transferred from a prison in Ahvaz, Khouzestan Province, to Tehran's Evin Prison.
The union's page on the social networking platform Telegram reported on Sunday April 28 that the inmates' dossiers have also been sent to Tehran for hearing at bench 7 of the court that is based in Evin Prison.
Bakhshi, Qolian and another inmate Amir Qoli, were arrested and jailed in January along with several others following protests at the Sugar Mill and the town where it is based.
Amir Qoli and two others, Sanaz Allahyari and Amir Hossein Mohammadi Fard were arrested for publishing an online journal covering the protests.
Bakhshi and Qolian were arrested again after being released from jail in February as they disclosed that they were tortured in jail.
No trial has been held for the five inmates so far. Activists hope that they will stand trial in Tehran.
