Upon returning from his trip to Iran, British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson met the husband of British-Iranian woman Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliff now imprisoned in Iran.
In his talks with several Iranian top officials, including President Hassan Rouhani and Foreign Minister Javad Zarif, Mr. Johson appealed for Ms. Zagharis freedom.
She was arrested almost 21 months ago in April 2015, later accused of “plotting to topple the Iranian establishment” and finally sentenced to 5 years imprisonment.
After meeting Mr. Johnson in London, Nazanin Zaghari's husband Richard Ratcliff told Radio Farda's Amir-Mosaddegh Katouzian that there are '”positive new developments on the ground” and that“the dream” for Nazanin and their toddler daughter Gabriela “to return home before Christmas is alive”.
