One day after calling U.S. intelligence chiefs "naive", President Donald Trump accused the Democrats of being "weak and passive with Iran".

In a tweet on Thursday, Trump said that Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer and House of representatives majority leader Nancy Pelosi "have no clue as to the danger they would be inflicting on our Country."

On Tuesday, U.S. intelligence chiefs in their threats report to Congress said that Iran is not currently engaged in activities to produce a nuclear weapon. This contradicted Trump's policy statements leading to his terminations of the 2015 nuclear agreement with Iran, prompting him to call the chiefs "naive".

Pelosi reacted to Trump's remarks calling intelligence chiefs naive, saying that the president should pay attention to what they say.

In his tweet, Trump also took credit for pulling the United States out of the Iran deal and also for the "financial chaos" Iran is facing due to sanctions he has reimposed on the country.
