Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliff was on a trip to Iran with her toddler, Gabriella, to celebrate Iranian New year, Norouz. By the end of her holiday and on her way back to Britain, she was detained at the airport.
This all happened two years ago today, when the Iranian British dual national, employee of Thomson Reuters foundation, landed in Evin Prison and was accused of “acting against national security” and received a 5 years imprisonment sentence.
On the occasion of 2nd anniversary of her detention, Nazanin’s husband, Richard Ratcliffe, tells Radio Farda, her wife is used as a “bargaining chip” to resolve a financial dispute between Iran and the UK. A claim which diplomats from both countries have denied.
