Police in London are saying that a number of pedestrians have been injured in the South Kensington area of west London.
British authorities have not classified the incident as a terrorist act. Authorities have not disclosed the number or severity of the injuries suffered in the incident.
"It is believed that a number of pedestrians have been injured. A man (no further details) has been detained at the scene," "Enquiries to establish the circumstances and motive are under way." said a statement made London Metropolitan Police
A tweet by the Natural History Museum said that there had been a "serious incident outside the Museum"
The British Prime Minister Theresa May was being briefed about the incident according to AP.
London Mayor Sadiq Khan urged people to avoid the area where the incident occurred.
Earlier this year in March, a man drove a car into pedestrians on London's Westminster Bridge. The attacker killed four people on the bridge and also stabbed a police officer to death.
