While people in most countries of the world, including Iran, had focused their attention on the outcome of the U.S. elections, the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps presented a "new missile system."

The allegedly homegrown missile launcher system was unveiled on Wednesday by the IRGC's Chief-Commander, Major General Hossein Salami.

"The launch of our missiles rattles the enemy. Our missile power guarantees the withdrawal of enemies," the IRGC-linked news agency, Tasnim, cited Salami as saying.

"The automated and smart system, used for launching multiple long-range ballistic missiles, has been manufactured by the IRGC Aerospace Force," Tasnim added.

On Wednesday, the monopolized state-run radio and television network, Seda va Sima, also broadcast images of the new system, which appeared to be underground.

A reporter for IRIB claimed that the multiple rocket launcher was "a new initiative and unparalleled anywhere in the world."

At the unveiling ceremony on Wednesday, the IRGC Major-General Hossein Salami said that "our missile power guarantees the enemy's retreat."

He also addressed the IRGC Aerospace commanders, urging them to hold their fingers on the trigger and be ready round the clock.

The IRGC unveiled its new missile system when the world's eyes were on the United States, waiting for the outcome of the presidential race between incumbent President Donald Trump and his Democratic rival, former Vice President Joe Biden.
