Iranian Women Enter Stadiums Disguised As Men
Despite a ban on women watching live football games inside stadiums, pictures emerge showing women disguised as men cheering among male spectators on April 27, 2018.
In recent years there have been similar cases and the new photos published on Friday, are apparently the most recent case.
On March 2, 2018, FIFA chief Gianni Infantino said Iranian President Hassan Rouhani had assured him that women would soon be allowed to attend soccer matches in the country, although it could "take a bit of time."
The remarks came after the Iranian Interior Ministry said about 35 women had been prevented from entering Tehran's Azadi Stadium on March 1 for a match and "were instructed to a proper place by police."
