Israel Downs Iranian Drone And Strikes Targets in Syria In Retaliation

An Iranian drone that entered Israeli air space and was intercepted according to the IDF. The interception took place in the early hours of February 10. In retaliation the Israeli Air Force has launched air strikes against Iranian targets in Syria.

According to IDF spokesman Jonathan Conricus " IDF has targeted the Iranian control systems in Syria that sent the into Israeli airspace."

After the strike in Syria one Israeli F-16 went down over Israeli territory after the pilots ejected. The Jerusalem Post reported that air raid sirens were heard in the Golan Heights and Beit She’an after Syrian forces opened fire with their anti-aircraft artillery.

IDF Spokesperson and Brigadier General Ronen Manelis clarified that, " the drone was identified by IAF systems and was downed by an IAF helicopter. The Iranian drone fell in our territory and is in our possession."

The Syrian state media quoted an unidentified military source that said, "The Israeli enemy entity at dawn today conducted a new aggression against one of the military bases in the central region. Our air defences confronted it and hit more than one plane."
