Iranian Authorities Reveal A 500,000 Cache Of "Banned Books"

This photo gallery shows images taken by journalists in Iran who were allowed to visit a warehouse, where confiscated and smuggled books are stored.

Every book legally published in Iran must have a permit issued by the Ministry of Islamic Guidance. The same applies to films or musical events. Sometimes it takes years and many revisions for an author to get permission to publish and many books are never allowed to go to print.
